I MOVED!!

Well, ya'll, I moved. My husband finished his MBA in December 2015, started looking for another job like the day after graduation, and boom, here we are. Things started to really pick up steam around my last blog post. I switched jobs and things got very busy moving into the holiday season and they've not slowed down. Well, that is until now. It's been wonderful!

We moved to a smallish town right outside Oklahoma City, kinda out in the country. It's so wonderful. It's the 1st time my kids have had kids in the neighborhood that are their ages and that they can run around with. We live in a gated subdivision with about 100 houses all on 1+ acre lots. It's so quiet here. The streets are safe and the only people in our neighborhood are the people who live here or their visitors. It's amazing. No longer worrying about who's driving past our house at what speed, which was a concern in Memphis for sure. Letting them ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards and golf cart around with zero worry is such a relief.

Middle Girl learning to do a back flip on a trampoline.

The girls now go to public school, which is so nice. Everyone loves it! They love the relaxed attitude towards their personal style and appearance. They love their new teachers and classmates. They love going to a much bigger school, which is the one thing that scared the crud outta me! I was used to them being in a small Catholic Parish school with so much control and to move them to this school seemed beyond anything I could handle. But we've all adjusted very well. They love it and I love it.

Another Big, BIG thing is I'm no longer working outside the home. I gotta say, it's amazing!! AH-MAZING!! My husband is out of town this week until Wednesday (he is a Director and has employees that report to him in 3 states, and has to go visit every month) and there is no worry as to where the girls are going after school and how much it's going to cost us. Yay!! Also, I get to cook and enjoy it again. How great is that. My house stays clean and no one is fighting because they are over worked and stressed out. My oldest daughter said to me last week, "Momma, I love that you are a stay at home mom again! No one is ever mad anymore because the house is a mess or dinner isn't done." If that isn't a testament to me doing the right thing for our family, I don't know what is. Now the downside of all that is I no longer have "my" money. Not that my husband has ever made me feel that his income isn't ours, but it was nice knowing I had money of my own. But today my youngest is sick and I'm not freaking out because I have to call work and use a "vacation day" for a sick kid. For me it's a huge weight off my shoulders.

I love my new house. It's a bit smaller than my old house by about 300-400 sq ft, which really isn't that big of a deal. I'll take pics later this week and show ya'll. It's open concept but still has defined space, which I love. I have this room that we are calling the tv room/sitting room/playroom and it has a small area attached to it that has a built in desk and storage where my computer and all my stuff is set up. I'm so in love with this area. I have to paint the whole house, but that will come in stages, so the colors of the house are not my pick. But I can live with it until the spring, after all the holidays and when things slow even more. My office is the deep sage color and it's just not my things. Too dark for me, but it has amazing windows and great natural light. So once it's painted bone it'll be so bright and sunny. Very excited and looking forward to sharing.

Other than that, things are great here. We've been beyond busy, the sale of our Memphis home consumed so much of us, ya'll that is a story that needs it's own blog post alone. It was so much work, and the people that bought it from us were not easy to deal with and that's the nicest I can be about them. We did a complete master bathroom remodel on that house. Whoa, that was something I don't want to ever do again. Then finding the house here, again another blog post, it was something. We assumed everything would be pretty smooth, HA! Nope, if it could go wrong it did. But I gained a wonderful friend out of it all, our realtor here ending up being so amazing. So there is that silver lining!

Well, ya'll I think that's enough for one day, see ya'll tomorrow!

Here's a picture of my porch for October/November.
