Ashes to Ashes

Wow, we went to the late mass tonight and Georgia did NOT do well. It started at 7pm we had to duck out right after the girls and I got the ashes on our forehead. It was bad I mean B-A-D! She was throwing her self on the floor and screaming. Ugh, this child! Why are things so different with the baby? Thankfully my big girls were total and complete Angels! They listened, sat up when told and even tried to read along with the readings, it was beyond sweet!

This year for Lent I'm going to give up cussing, so far so good (she almost caused me to slip, but I said Captain Knuckles instead, hehe). I cuss normally like a drunk sailor! I feel that this is something that will be beneficial to my whole family if I can keep my promise and I plan to try hard too keep it.

Now it's laundry time and some real crazies John and Kate plus 8 and then some Duggars (I LOVE both shows, but wow, my life is totally calm after these two families).

C is for Cookie

Girl Scout Cookies are in! Woohooo! We just picked up our 15 cases that we ordered. Now we have to start collecting money and giving folks their cookies. We have already opened our boxes, and YUM-O I LOVE the Dulce De Leche cookies. This year they are my favorite YUM!!

When?

When did shopping at consignment (thrift) shops become the "in" thing to do?? This has really stressed me out! I have always looked for deals when it comes to my kids clothing and there is a GREAT new consignment (thrift) shop down the street from my house it's WONDERFUL but it's packed all the time and it's really stressing me out! I want to know when the snooty people started shopping thrift. Is it because the economy is in the crapper and the credit your family has been living on has finally run out? If so, then welcome to the world of REALITY folks, nice to have ya! Anywho off track. I love love love love me some consignment (thrift) shops. I went yesterday and got Lydia a nice patch look dress for 4.50, Claire a oh so cute sail boat themed dress for 4.50, Georgia two smocked dresses, both with their original tags on them, one for 6.50 and one for 10.00. So in all 4 dresses for around 32.00, tax included. You can't even hardly get a on sale smocked dress for 32 bucks! It really makes my day to get these deals. BUT all you new folks are making it to where it's slim pickins, ya'll need to go on back to buying retail price, selling them to the consignment shops for a fraction of what you paid after your darlings wore said dress 2 or 3 times so I can get a KILLER deal for my little darlings! Just kidding (kinda).

Claire's dresses.

Lydia's dresses.

Georgia in the tub being cute as heck!

Georgia's dresses

Ed painted this for Claire who threw a fit to have him paint a University of Memphis tiger on her hand, so she got her way.

On a funny note, yesterday I was sifting through the sizes and kept bumping into a lady that had children is similar sizes. I being nice, said "Boy don't you just love thrift shops." she said to me "Consignment is such a nicer word to use." Ummm whatever!!!

Why???

Why is it when you don't need something you see it over and over again, but once you need said object you can't ever find it??? It's really ticking me off.

Edit:Wow I came back and read this, I am the typo Queen!

My troubles

I sometimes get so wrapped up in my self and my little drama's that I forget that I have a WONDERFUL life with healthy children a loving husband and a beautiful house. I have more stuff that anyone could want. My children want for nothing and always have food. I read something like this and it really grounds me. Yes my children have been sick and even been in the hospital sick, but nothing life threading, thank God! I couldn't even begin to understand the pain of losing a child. So today I thank God for all I have.

Needing help ya'll

How do I download a free template and then apply it to my blog? Anyone out there know? I want something cute and fun and blogger just ain't cuttin it for me in the cute and fun template department.

TGIF!!

Today my husband goes out of town for the weekend. It'll be just me and the girls. I'm looking forward to some mommy daughter time. I'm planning a special day with them tomorrow. I'm going to take them to the library to get their own library card and some books. Then we are going to eat lunch somewhere fun, maybe our favorite Mexican place or pizza. Then come home relax for a little while, put Georgia down for a nap and read the books we got from the library. I may take them to walk around the mall later in the afternoon or if it's nice play in the yard on the swing set, cook dinner together then eat it in front of the TV (big treat for our family) watching Wallie. I'm really looking forward to our day tomorrow.

This am we ran our of half and half so instead I put whipped cream in my cup, yum.

NOLA pictures

Here we are about to hit Bourbon Street. Woohoo! Really it was a bunch of grown up fun. We had one beer and food.

The famous or infamous Super dome. This is where Sarah's race started and ended.

Sight seeing pictures, I'm sure everyone knows what this stuff is.

And here is Sarah running her race, doing good making good time.

And here is the sign that we made for her. We held it up and cheered as she ran past the finish line area. She was embarrassed holding it, wonder why? Back story here is she gets all sweaty and salty looking after running. Funny hu!

There's no place like home

I'm home from New Orleans and will get some pictures up soon. Don't have too many but I'll post what I have. It was a nice trip and I'm happy to report that the city didn't look jacked up, it has recovered well.
